The public is invited to join the Searcy High School EAST program and Searcy Parks and Recreation to celebrate the completion of the Walk Through History project, installation of the permanent sign and dedication of the historic walking trail in downtown Searcy. The event begins at 3:30 p.m. at the Benjamin Clayton Black House May 19.

The EAST Initiative, in collaboration with the Arkansas Department of Education, is pleased to offer an EAST Beyond the Bell Grant opportunity to all EAST programs in good standing. Funding is available up to $10,000 for projects to be completed during non-school hours in the Summer and/or Fall of 2014!
LaunchPad Startup Competition May 3 in Conway

A LaunchPad Startup Pitch Competition is set for Saturday, May 3 at 1:30 p.m. at the Hilton Garden Inn on Amity Road in Conway. Competitors have three minutes to pitch their idea to judges, followed by a Q&A in front of a live audience for a chance at the $15,000 cash prize and $7,500 in services for the winning concept.
Nettleton EAST students design billboards

EAST students at Nettleton Junior High and High Schools are improving their graphic design skills and serving their school district by creating billboards to promote the Nettleton School District in northeast Arkansas.
